Possible reasons for delay
The Play Store Event is one of the reasons. This event was slated for 24 October, 2013 and was anticipated to host the unwrapping of Nexus 5 as well as Android 4.4 KitKat. However, the event largely restricted on highlighting what is new about the Google Play Store. One strong reason which seems to have pushed the launch dates ahead is the United States Shutdown. FCC delay is only one of the outcomes of the United States government and there was no fixed date when the shutdown will end. Another reason that has delayed the launch of Android 4.4 KitKat Update are rumors surrounding the launch of G Flex technology by LG. The phone maker will soon be announcing a curved display smartphone which is based on the G Flex technology.
