How Does Abott FreeStyle Libre Work?
A small filament around 5.5mm long is inserted just under the skin of the patient and is held in place with a small adhesive pad. Subsequently, the Abbott FreeStyle Libre sensor uses the filament to measure glucose every minute in the patient’s interstitial fluid. You can simply scan the sensor with the provided reader for a real-time glucose reading. Additionally, the continuous glucose monitoring system is also designed to provide users with a complete picture of the individuals’ glucose levels without the painful daily testing procedures.
