Modi’s Standpoint

He asserted how India’s New Education Policy or NEP will help pick the country up from its “slave mentality” in context of English as a language.Modi made the statements while speaking at the launch of the Gujarat governmental initiative,  Mission Schools of Excellence at Adalaj in Gandhinagar.He also mentioned how having grasp over English was considered the hallmark of being intellectual when it ought to just be a medium for communication.

The Mission is expected to help root in the education infrastructure across Gujarat with setting up of classrooms that are smart, labs and up gradation of infrastructure for schools in Modi’s home state.With 5G slated to welcome in virtual reality and blended learning, it sure will influence the very basis of education.

NEP Bats for Inclusiveness

With NEP, however, more impetus and options will be available in local or regional languages. Modi added,  “We aim to ensure that children of poor parents become doctors and engineers even if they are not educated in English (medium). We want to ensure that no one is left behind due to the lack of the English language.”

A Positive Note

Over the past two decades, Gujarat government has setup 1.25 lakh classrooms and also inducted 2 lakh plus teachers. Currently, the state sees one crore students in attendance and around 4 lakh teachers marked in the online mode. 5G can only uplift this stat.
